staging tip #4

Your home should be as close to move-in ready as possible, which means making all repairs that you’ve neglected. Get rid of those squeaky doors, chipped paint, loose tiles, dirty grout, and ratty carpeting. Tighten doorknobs, changed burned out bulbs, remove dead houseplants, replace ripped screens and fix leaky faucets. Buyers won’t find flaws charming or irresistible, so get rid of them and let your home shine.

staging tip #5

Set the mood using colors and light. Extreme colors can turn buyers off (but so can too little). Choose colors that enhance your furnishings without detracting from them. Use lighting to create the right ambiance and open shades and windows for daytime showings. Natural light creates a happier atmosphere during the day.
